Our Story
From rebuilding after the Great Chicago Fire to an independent church in Niles — over 150 years, the same God has carried this congregation.
1871
After the Great Chicago Fire destroyed many churches, a group began rebuilding their community. They purchased a lot at Halsted and Belden Avenue, and in 1888 Belden Avenue Baptist Church was launched.
1973
The church relocated to Niles, where CityLine is today, and in time took the name Crossway Baptist Church — a new home for a growing congregation.
2004
Joining Harvest Bible Chapel, the Niles campus opened with 110 people. By 2006 it had grown to 450 and called Mohan Zachariah as campus pastor. Today the church averages 1,300 across three weekend services.
2019
The Niles campus was planted as an independent church and renamed CityLine Bible Church — better reflecting the diverse communities we serve. Pastor Mohan continues as Lead Pastor alongside a newly installed elder board.
