Come, Seek the Face of God
Come Low
May 24, 2026
In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God gives Solomon a conditional promise: humble yourself, pray and seek my face, turn from your wicked ways—and then I will hear from heaven, forgive your sin, and heal your land. It sounds simple. But every part of that "if" demands something from us that doesn't come naturally.
This message from the series "Come Seek the Face of God" unpacks God's math for revival through three movements and one powerful promise:
• Kneel and Yield — Humility isn't our default. We rise when challenged, defend when accused, and protect our image at all costs. But before a holy God, we come low. You bear His name—that's exactly why you're able to humble yourself before Him.
• Pray and Plead — Most of us pray for God's hand: the job, the healing, the blessing. But God is calling us to seek His face. The difference changes everything. As one poem captured it: the King of Kings stopped for a beggar and asked, "What have you to give to me?" Don't seek the thing. Seek the king.
• Turn and Walk — Repentance isn't remorse. It isn't rationalization. It isn't even just feeling bad. True repentance—rooted in Psalm 51—means returning to God, owning it without excuse, and walking in a new direction. A turn without a walk isn't repentance; it's just regret.
• Rise and Receive — Here's the then. God will hear from heaven. God will forgive your sin. God will heal your land. The gospel is the story of God coming low first—Jesus humbling Himself even to the point of death so that we could rise. The antivenom for the serpent's bite flows from Calvary.
