Heroes of the Faith

Hebrews 11 is Scripture's great roll call of faith — Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses. If the Bible were written today, would your name be in it? The surprise of this chapter is that the qualities of its heroes aren't some unreachable, superhuman faith; they're the everyday marks of anyone faithful to a God who keeps his promises. Faith is "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" — and it is within your reach. Four qualities of a biblical hero: Be captured by the Lord — real heroes of the faith are gripped by God's love, not driven by obligation. Cherish the future reward over the temporal — like Abraham looking for the city with foundations, set your mind on things above and don't trade the eternal for the fleeting. Realize your daily decisions have an impact — moment-by-moment holy living, where every choice today carries weight for tomorrow. Embrace suffering unnoticed by others — the faithful were mocked and forgotten by the world, but never by God, who sees your suffering and holds your reward. The championship for the believer is coming. By faith, keep following him.
